Get To Know the Author:
When Chris Hanly was in school, back in the day he used to enjoy writing short stories. He had stopped working on any stories in ninth grade. Up until two years ago he hadn’t bothered to make an effort in this industry. Chris has been driving trucks for twenty years. The majority of his experience has involved hazmat tankers of one kind or another. Being over the road he has witnessed many interesting and surprising situations, on the highways as well as in truck stops and rest areas across America.
One day while driving down the road his mind started forming a story. He wrote a ruff draft of it down, thinking it was pretty cool. The next day, he came up with another one. On the third day after pondering a third one, he realized that he might have the beginning of a book of short stories. The ideas started to develop, with new stories everyday. One night he called his brother Scott to ask him for help in finding a typewriter. After the laughter stopped, Scott informed him that probably only Stephen King still used a typewriter. He informed Chris that he would need to buy and USE a computer. Two days later while on the phone with his brother Chris bought his very first computer out of the front seat of a car at a truck stop in Gary Indiana. No joke. His brother began the long painful process in teaching Chris how to turn the computer on, all the way to writing, saving and printing stories, to learning how to send e-mails, downloading and using programs and other help and advise involved in these areas. They did all of this training and learning over the phone.
To everyone’s surprise, including Chris, he now has 2 1/2 of 3 books written, with enough ideas to possibly compete a 4th book in the series of The Truckers Nightmare. Yes, it is going to be a series.
Chris lives in Alabama with his wife Amelia and daughter Jetti (sorry she is already spoken for), along with his dog, cat, and chickens.
